NAFO bot fellas
If you don't know what a NAFO bot is, you have
not been following the conflict through social media.
NAFO bots are the annoying people who twitter
bomb anyone relaying any information from the War that does not suit their
narrative.
But it is much more nefarious than that.
We have all noticed how crazy the world has
become in the age of social media. Starting with the Meme wars and the rise of
Pepe the Frog trolling and the order of KEK, WOKE culture served as a
backlash, before morphing into Trans extremism, then Pro-VAX lunatics who
wanted mandates and to lock everyone up, and now the NAFO radical death
cult determined to push us into nuclear WAR.
So what’s going on here? Why are such small
groups terrorising the silent majority?
While doing research on NAFO, I came across
their ‘guidelines’ on how to become a Fella. And to my absolute lack of
surprise, it is remarkably similar to the social experiment conducted by Ron
Jones, a high school teacher, in 1967.
The experiment began innocently enough, with
Jones creating a set of rules and symbols to create a sense of unity and
discipline within the classroom. He called the group "The Third Wave"
and told the students that it was part of a larger movement that was spreading
across the country. He also created a salute, a motto, and a uniform for the
group.
The experiment quickly took on a life of its
own, as the students became more and more invested in the group identity that
Jones had created. They began to exclude those who didn't conform, and some
students even reported their classmates to the teacher for not following the
rules.
Jones soon realized that the experiment had
taken a dangerous turn and decided to end it. He held a final meeting with the
students, where he explained the purpose of the experiment and how easily
people could be manipulated into following authoritarian leaders.
The experiment became national news and
sparked a conversation about the dangers of groupthink and blind conformity. It
also inspired a novel called ‘ The Wave’ and a documentary, titled "Lesson
Plan," that explored the experiment and its impact on the students who
participated in it. Let's break down how this applies to the
training for the North Atlantic FELLAS Organization and the TransWOKE, VAX mandate,
Youth Attracted Alphabet brigade they are an extension of.
One of their captains begins with –
I've decided to write some
friendly advice for new Fellas. A lot of this has come from first and second hand
experiences. These are NOT rules. Just some tips to counter vatniks and to draw
more people to NAFO (more donations!)
Like the teacher in the experiment, it is
emphasised that these are not rules, just helpful tips. Oh and by the way if
you have money, give it to us.
1. Take care of yourself. Ensure you have security
measures on your account. Be careful what you share. No good to anyone if
you're scammed, doxxed or banned.
We are introduced to the Shiba Inu little dog Mascot
teaching NAFO 101 and the message that we care about you. But they are also
projecting effective ways of harming their opponents from the outset.
2. Be nice to
other fellas. We are massively diverse, so if you really don't like something
just don't follow or mute. Do NOT attack them unless they're a genuine fake
fella, which is super obvious.
Now we are getting into some group psychology
and conformity. Essentially this edict asks you to ignore your own morality for
the sake of the team. You are meant to challenge authority and your team in the
face of injustice – not shut up!
This is why you can befriend someone who watches
those poor people being burning alive in Odessa in 2014 while trolling – ‘Cope harder
bro!’
3. Article 5. This is best used rarely. Yesterday I
called it to help a 🇺🇦 minister who was getting horrible nonsense on a
post about his daughter. Don't use it on fellas, don't use it whenever you get
attacked by one 6 follower account.
Article5 is their hashtag that rallies the
troops. Another crucial development in group psychology, with this hashtag they
can feel confident going up against anyone – even lions run from a swarm of
wasps.
One of their biggest victories came when they
took on long time Russian diplomat Mikhail Ulyanov when he commented that Ukraine
was the aggressor in the conflict. That's when @LiveFaustDieJung, a military
Twitter e-celeb and NAFO member, stepped in.
He trolled: "You think it's cool to bomb
innocent Ukrainian civilians just because some soldiers got shelled?" And
Ulyanov, in a moment of weakness, replied to his troll.
He broke one of the cardinal rules of the
internet: don't feed the trolls. He fell right into their trap and now his
reply “You pronounced this nonsense, not me,” has become a meme among the
Fellas. They're all repeating it, making fun of him, and even printing it on
T-shirts that they sell to raise money for the Georgian Legion.
Ulyanov tried to play it cool, but he couldn't
handle the heat. He vanished from Twitter for a week, probably to lick his
wounds, before finally coming back to face the music. But the Fellas wouldn't
leave him alone, they kept trolling him every chance they got.
And now they have a pretty funny Mantra.
4. Continue to be yourself. Post things you like, have
fun, it boosts engagement and gives everyone a break. Also, follow different
people, learn about other people and countries.
Initially, I found it difficult to comment on
this edict; it sounds like they are saying, don’t take life too seriously,
which is usually decent advice. But further down we find out about how accounts
get banned for trolling and one of the ways to combat that is to have wide
ranging interests and posting about different things.
5. Take a
break! No harm in having time off.
There's now 10s of thousands of us. When we started this was not the
case. Now it's rare for me to not find fellas already under nonsense posts.
We are Legion, you are part of a massive
brotherhood – work hard, but at least get some sleep.
6. Choose targets
wisely. A 5 follower account isn't worth it and engaging can boost them.
Replying to them is different, that can be fun. But also know when to block and
stop. Mocking disinfo under news articles or big accounts is more useful.
Now we get to the job. Your job as a Fella is
to ‘bonk’ this means to harass and shitpost on accounts that are big enough to
be worth it.
So having adopted the title Fella, the uniform
of the Shiba Inu, and the hashtag callsigns; the new recruit is instructed to
go out and adopt and/or create acceptable Memes to mock their imagined enemy
known as Vatniks – essentially anyone who questions the false narrative of the
mainstream.
This exactly parallels the experiment created
by the teacher–
They have Titles and Hierarchy
They have a Uniform – the Shiba Inu dog
They have a Motto – “You pronounced this
nonsense, not me,”
The have a Job – bonking and responding to
article5 rally cries
They have been instructed to NEVER question a Fella.
They have been subtly advised that banning, doxing,
and scamming the enemy is the most effective thing to do.
They have been subtly advised on how not to be
caught being a troll.
And they have been empowered by the idea, that
they are Legion.
What could possibly go wrong?
7. Mock, don't
argue. 99/100 times they aren’t going to change their mind. NAFO works because
we don't dignify nonsense.
This is a clarification on what ‘bonking’ is,
their job is not to convince people that any information may be inaccurate, or
to challenge the authenticity of the report… Don’t think, just Mock!
And what is nonsense? Well that will be
everything that makes no sense IF the mainstream narrative were true… So we
have entered a hyper-reality where everything that is true is nonsense because
it conflicts with the false story they have been telling themselves, and the
delusion sustains because the mainstream media feeds the echo chamber of Fellas.
8. Don't force
rules! If you don't like something a fella says or does, move on. Otherwise we
can have disputes and lose focus. NAFO is more than you.
Again, the group is more than you, never
question a Fella. And yet, without a hint of irony this is the next edict.
9. Be tolerant.
We will all have our own views, beliefs, backgrounds. I personally engage with
accounts with wildly different political views. But I don't tolerate racism,
sexism, homophobia, transphobia.
Be tolerant – I don’t tolerate!!! Do you see
the madness of this double speak? Do you think these WOKE idiots even realise
how stupid their intolerance of intolerance is?
Of course not, because that would involve
thinking, and they are taught not to think and engage in discussions. They are
trained to MOCK those that say things that conflict with their narrative.
Which is why these kinds of people are known
as ‘bots’. They are programmed just like any algorithm and they have no ability
to evolve and improve, so they just churn out their fantasies that Ukraine is
winning, Russia is losing, the Russian economy is collapsing, Putin is about to
be overthrown, Russian equipment is 2nd rate, Russians are armed
with shovels, Russia are orcs doing wave attacks with convicts, and Crimea is
about to be taken.
Never engaging with reality, all that matters
is trolling.. and feeding your delusions.
Another member adds a few points for clarity.
4.1 Twitter will shadowban you
if your follower circle is too constricted and your replies are too
provocative. You can *help* Nafo by expanding your interests and engagement on
Twitter.
This added the context to number 4.
Below we can see how stressed the point is
about not discussing anything, having a reasonable discussion is simply out of
the question.
7.1 This point can’t be stressed
enough. I know: I deal with models of rationality, argumentation, cognitive
biases, etc. professionally. YOU CAN’T REACH THESE PEOPLE. DON’T TRY.
7.2 IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A
DEBATE WHILE BEING ACTIVE IN NAFO. Why? Debate requires both sides to be
willing to change their views based on the argument. Are you willing to change
your views about Ukraine or Russia? No? Then debate is impossible. Just is. End
of.
So in an supposed organic organisation, tips
have suddenly become highly stressed – and we can see how a friendly club has
become radicalised… it’s that easy.
You should always question the narrative,
especially in the age of advertising, PR, marketing, and these radicalised
online groups. You’ll learn more by focusing on what someone doesn’t want you
to know about, and from the people who are being silenced; than you will ever
find out from their carefully crafted images, messages, and mantras.
We live in an online hyper-reality of images and narratives. Question everything, challenge every assumption, don’t get swept along with groupthink, you have a brain! USE IT!
